METHODS OF OBTAINING TURKISH CITIZENSHIP

The Turkish government has introduced a new accelerated system for obtaining Turkish citizenship. You can apply if your real estate investment is over $400,000 or you have a $500,000 deposit in a Turkish bank. However, if you withdraw money from your account or sell real estate for up to 3 years, you will lose your citizenship.

Additionally, you are eligible to apply for citizenship if you invest more than $500,000 in the Turkish economy or create 50 jobs for employees.

Turquoise card

The Turquoise Card is an employment permit that allows a foreigner to live and work in Turkey.

The Turkish government announced that those who have merit in the fields of technology, science, economy, sports, culture and arts can participate in the program. Turquoise cards are issued by the “Ministry of Family, Labor and Social”.

Citizenship of the property owner residing on the residence permit.

This method of obtaining citizenship is available if you have a residence permit and have lived in Turkey continuously for 5 years. To do this, you need to buy a residential property and obtain a residence permit. In this case, there is no limit on the minimum value of the real estate.

Turkish citizenship by birth

The easiest way to obtain Turkish citizenship is to be born into a Turkish family. This method infers that the parents of the child at the time of his birth are Turkish citizens.

Your power of attorney is a document that allows you to avoid the necessary but time-consuming paperwork and travel to obtain a certificate of title (tapu) when buying property in Turkey. By issuing a power of attorney, you are given the legal authority to act on your behalf. It is important to remember that the responsibility for all transactions that are carried out with the help of a power of attorney rests solely with you.

To be on the safe side, it is recommended that real estate registration releases be provided only to professional real estate agents and licensed attorneys. The validity period of the power of the attorney should be limited to the duration of the transaction for the purchase of real estate, and the list of permits should not go beyond the transaction. It is strongly not recommended to do a general power of attorney for real estate, which contains all rights. In the hands of fraudsters, this can be disastrous.

It is recommended to draw up a power of attorney only for those real estate transactions that are necessary for the transaction and registration of property.

Your rights will be protected if the powers of the trustee are strictly specified in the power of the attorney. Most of the time, these powers are limited to the right to buy real estate and connect water and electricity meters. You should not issue a power of attorney, for example, with the authority to sell real estate, if you are not sure of the legality of the person’s further actions.

The decisive factor in choosing a trustworthy person should be professional level and experience. Globerry Agency recommends that you contact reliable experts in the field of real estate purchases.

Thousands of successful real estate transactions have allowed us to create our own sample power of attorney. This is a special power of the attorney for the purchase of real estate in Turkey, which clearly stipulates the necessary powers.

Globerry ® experts will ensure that the purchase and document execution is successful.
